Thanks to all my friends, colleagues and peers
It has come time for me to leave Microsoft after 15 years of fun in three different continents. I had a farewell last night and it reminded me of all the fun and cool people I have met over the years (as well as reminding me of some stories that I would sooner forget!).
15 years. Since I began I have become married, had 2 children, liven in 12 different houses in 3 continents, had a very sick daughter for 5 years, finished 2 Cure Kids Great Adventure Races, broken many bones and changed in weight from 80kg - 87kg - back to 77kg (as I have changed the type of exercise I was doing).
I have had 14 different managers and 9 different roles all of which have provided different opportunities.
I was also humbled by the lovely words Anne Taylor, Kirbs and the team said about me (although a little disturbed at the photos they found of me – none of which will be reproduced here!)
The majority of people I have met have been amazing and I hope we always stay in touch. Please reach out to me via email and always feel free to call anytime.
I have had the best MBA possible over the last few years and am leaving Microsoft a better and different person. I am going to start writing some of my learnings down about working in fast growing organisations and the changes that occur over 15 years as it has been an incredible experience.
It is great to be home – New Zealand is a fantastic country to live and bring up children and I am excited about my next role as GM of Channels at EMC. It is just across the road from MSNZ and they have parking in the same building so I am sure I will see many of you in the very near future!
